Across the globe, the pharmaceutical industry is changing. While it remains one of Europe’s leading manufacturing sectors, there is an increase in the number of companies either moving their manufacturing facilities to China and India or establishing new facilities in the region. At the same time, the increasing regulatory framework in Europe and the USA is outstripping the pool of talent available, particularly at senior levels. Even R&D is not safe, with more and more companies outsourcing their R&D and the emergence of generics threatening future funding.
